The Woman in the Window
College Professor Richard Wanley and his friends become obsessed with the portrait of a woman in the shop window next door to the mens' club where they reqularly meet. While admiring the portrait one night the woman appears beside Wanley and invides him up to her apartment for a nightcap. But her boyfriend suddenly bursts in and misinterprets Wanley's presence. During the scuffle the boyfriend is accidentaly killed.
In order to protect his reputation Wanley reluctantly agrees to dump the body and help cover up the killing, but things become complicated when a blackmailer starts to put pressure on him and the woman. This movie has one of the best twist endings ever seen and is on of Edward G. Robinson's greatest roles. A rare noir classic!
